September Issue is on the Stands

The September issue of Thunder Roads West Virginia is on the stands everywhere in the state. Our FREE magazine is available at every business listed in our Biker Friendly Directory. We also distribute at bike events across the state all month long.

In the pages of Thunder Roads West Virginia this month, we cover rides and stories from one end of the state to the other. It's "Rally Time" and the pages of this issue are filled with stories from the Freedom Fest rally at Snowshoe Mountain and MountainFest in Morgantown. Motorcycle racing makes the pages of Thunder Roads West Virginia this month, in the forms of vintage racing as well as flat-tracking. We examine just how much weight you can carry on a motorcycle, and what happens when you exceed the limit. And we have the stories of numerous local rides, including one led by Governor Manchin...it's all there in the September issue of Thunder Roads West Virginia. Get yours before they're gone!

Ride for Wayne Arbogast

In January of 2010, Wayne Arbogast was stricken with a potentially life-threatening brain infection called Viral Encephalitis. He has survived, but with overwhelming medical expenses. Bikers recently got together to help Wayne and Mabel out. Thunder Roads West Virginia's Moe Vetter went on the ride, and provided this story, as well as a collection of photos that can be viewed here.

There were over 60 motorcycles/trikes. The ride started in VA but most of the ride was in WV. We started in Monterey and rode through Frost to Marlinton. From there we got on the Scenic Highway and rode that to Slatyfork and went through Snowshoe resort to Cass. From there it was to Bartow and then Rt. 250 back to Monterey. There were door prizes awarded after the ride and then a Freewill Offering dinner from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Wayne and his wife Mabel were there and Wayne is making remarkable strides in recovery.
